Located in north-central Austria,
Suttenbrunn has a slightly more continental type
climate than does most of north-central Europe. Winters are fairly cold,
with temperatures mostly near freezing.
In the coldest spells, some nights may fall to -20 C. Winter
precipitation can be either snow or rain, and snow may lie on the ground for
several days at a time in many years.
Summers are pleasantly warm, with afternoon highs mostly in the 20's
C, but nights are pleasantly cool, usually between 10 and 15 C. Hot spells can occur, with some days
reaching 35 C in some years. Annual precipitation
is moderate, approaching 500 - 700 mm, and fairly well
distributed through the year. Some of the summer rain falls in thunderstorms. |
