Sensor Calibration

·         Ecowitt Solar Sensor WS90 in GW-2000

o   21-Aug-2023: 1st Calibration

§  Before the UV Index was too high (informed by AWEKAS administrator)

§  Set UV gain to 0,78

§  Set also Irradiance Gain to 0,78

§  Afterwards UV Index was accurate but Sun Hours were too low

o   2-Mar-2024: 2nd Calibration

§  Leave UV gain to 0,78

§  Re-set Irradiance Gain to 1,0

§  Now UV Index and Sun Hours are accurate and display of CumulusMX webtag <#IsSunny> and Solar Radiation Chart Curve follow the Ryan-Stolzenbach algorithm.

§  Set CMX Solar Sun Treshold: 70%

·         Ecowitt Piezo/Haptic Rain Gauge WS90/GW-2000

o   4-Jun-2022: Installation

§  Upgrade to Firmware V1.1.9 (not yet upgraded to v1.4.3)

o   26-Jun-2022: Calibration of Rain Gain (FW dependent)  

§  Gain1: 0,6 for rain rate < 4 mm/hr

Located in north-central Austria, Suttenbrunn has a slightly more continental type climate than does most of north-central Europe.  Winters are fairly cold, with temperatures mostly near freezing.  In the coldest spells, some nights may fall to -20 C. Winter precipitation can be either snow or rain, and snow may lie on the ground for several days at a time in many years.  Summers are pleasantly warm, with afternoon highs mostly in the 20's C, but nights are pleasantly cool, usually between 10 and 15 C.  Hot spells can occur, with some days reaching 35 C in some years.  Annual precipitation is moderate, approaching 500 - 700 mm, and fairly well distributed through the year.  Some of the summer rain falls in thunderstorms.
